Long Weekends = Third Watch Marathons!

What do you get when you cross a long weekend with only physics projects to work on?
THIRD WATCH MARATHONS!
That is, of course, if I finish my projects. Which I desperately need to do. Anyone know of any good videos of motocross head-on collisions? Tina and I need one for our momentum part of the project.

In my opinion, 5 reasons why Third Watch was cancelled:
5. It's just too much fun torturing innocent fans.
4. ER's ratings were falling, so cancel the better show
3. They needed 26 more Law and Orders (Trial by Jury? Remember it? Didn't think so... I liked it, though...and Amy Carlson was in it)
2. Deal or No Deal every other night is soooo much better
1. NBC wanted to be the network in last place.

So. Now that I've talked Third Watch for a bit, I was thinking maybe I could rate a couple of other TV shows and movies relating somehow to the cast of Public Enemies, because there hasn't been much news or activity relating to the movie lately. (Although I did get word from a set assistant that filming will be taking place all through next week in Chicago, but not much will be visible)

First up for ratings is LOST.
Emilie de Ravin, who is in Public Enemies, plays Claire on Lost.
This show is very exciting and action-packed. Seasons 1 through 3 are available on DVD. I don't think I really have to explain what it's about, because it's so popular.
But I will anyways.

Oceanic Flight 815 crashed on an unihabited island (or so they thought) in the middle of the ocean. Unlocatable, the survivors have endured countless turmoils, including the mysterious and murderous black cloud, a polar bear, and the "others", who constantly take their own. Locke, one of the survivors, finds a hatch, that has a button to be pressed every 108 minutes. The code is the unluckily lucky numbers of Hurley's: 4,8,15,16,23,42. Everything continues to get weirder, and many deaths occur, usually from odd circumstances. As of right now, people are coming to the island, but have no intention of rescuing the survivors. There are only 6 that will make it off the island. I don't want to give too much away though, as the season finale is 2 hours next week Thursday, starting at 8 p.m. central time.

My opinion right now of the show is that it's going down the tubes. Flushing itself to cancellation. Seasons 1-3 were great. I can watch them over and over again (especially season 2.) But season 4 is just too confusing, some plot lines conflict with past ones, and the flash-fowards instead of flash-backs kind of don't make much sense anymore. It's not horrible, but I suggest the writers pick up the pace!

My second rating today will be one of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Of course, I'm meaning the one with Johnny Depp.
A new, colorful twist on the book by Roald Dahl gives a more halarious viewing experience than the original movie. Movies. There's been a few. This is directed by Tim Burton, and if you know anything about Johnny Depp/Tim Burton movies, you know that they are usually amazing. Willy Wonka owns a chocolate factory, and has a contest with 5 golden tickets hidden inside chocolate bars. Charlie Buckets, a poor little boy, finds a ticket, and him and his grandfather go to the factory for loads of craziness and wacky experiences. It's been available on DVD for a while now, and I know I've seen it at Wal-Mart for $7.50. Great deal for a great movie.

My opinion: Better than the previous movie, and better than the book! Johnny Depp adds a certain character to the character that wouldn't be possible by anyone else. Also, the contrast of colors of the outside world to the factory is a signature Tim Burton thing. That adds character to the set. Love it, and you won't be able to watch without craving candy, so be warned!

That's all my ratings for today, partially because I thought of a few pictures I'd like to share, and partially because I thought of a few links to videos and such that I'd also like to share.

Pictures: These are from Oshkosh. Some random set/base camp things, but quite interesting.
Stay off the cobblestone!

Police Officers with... Police Officers? The extras arrive.

Here comes some more cobblestone!

Now heres a couple of links that I'd like to share. A few of my favorite Third Watch-related videos on YouTube.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=_b8QyNS2isE An excellent season 6 trailer put together by someone on YouTube.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uRqIuIfBxr4 Another awesome Trailer sort of thing.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=T-cfNSGSQFU&feature=related I can't believe I found this. This scene holds near and dear to my heart. Although after the time of Lt. Johnson, this was the episode that got me completely obsessive. I loved Third Watch for years prior to this, but... I don't know. It was just amazing. So, now you all know. :-) Hopefully you can see the whole episode sometime. Season 5, Episode: Fury.

This is a video that I made about the Oshkosh filming. Includes all of my best videos/pictures from there.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nUAKNMSu6E Please watch and comment!

If anyone has facebook, here's two great groups to join.

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=11089579657 This one is a Public Enemies group I made. It's about a few of the inside jokes that develop if you stand out on the barriers long enough. You know you've spent too much time at Public Enemies filming when...

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2344407419 This is my Third Watch facebook group. Bring Back Third Watch! I try to check it as often as possible, and usually can answer any questions about Third Watch, the music in it, DVD releases, or basically anything relating to it. It's definitely where you can find some pretty good info about Third Watch. That, and my sources of www.thirdwatch.net and http://get-me.to/ThirdWatchMadness (there's lots of pop-ups involved with this one, though... so watch out!)

THIRD WATCH quote of the day:

Bosco: Do I look like an information kiosk to you?

THIRD WATCH fact of the day:

Fleetwood Mac premiered one of their songs, Peacekeeper, on Third Watch. It had never been heard before until that episode. (The episode was 10-13, Season 4.-very good episode, and song, by the way)

JOHNNY DEPP Quote of the Day:

Will Turner: "Where's Elizabeth?"
Jack Sparrow: "She's safe, just like I promised. She's all set to marry Norrington, just like she promised. And you get to die for her, just like you promised. So we're all men of our word, really... except for Elizabeth, who is, in fact, a woman."
